The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), with its headquarters in Chennai, has invited applications for its Joint Entrance Examination to be held on June 14 for admissions to the following courses commencing on July 13, 2009.

* B.Tech. (plastics engineering technology)

Eligibility for this four-year course is 10+2 with mathematics, physics and chemistry with at least 60 per cent marks in aggregate.

Age limit: 21 years. This course is offered at the CIPET centres in Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar and Lucknow.

* M.Tech. (plastics engineering or technology)

Eligibility for this two-year course is BE or B.Tech. in mechanical, chemical, production, polymer, plastics technology or engineering; or M.Sc. polymer science or chemistry (with polymer specialisation).

Age limit is 35 years. This course is offered at Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Hajipur and Lucknow.

* M.Tech. (nanotechnology)

Eligibility for this two-year course is BE or B.Tech. in plastics engineering or technology, polymer or chemical; or M.Sc. in polymer chemistry, physics, chemistry and electronics. Age limit is 35 years. This course is offered at the Laboratory for Advanced Research in Polymer Materials (LARPM), Bhubaneswar.

* M.Tech. (CAD, CAM or CAE).

Eligibility for this two-year course is BE or B.Tech. in mechanical; production; plastics technology or engineering; tool engineering; aeronautics; automobile; or mechatronics. Age limit is 35 years. This course is offered at the Chennai centre.

* PG Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing

Eligibility for this 18-months course is B.Sc. with chemistry as one of the subjects. Age limit is 24 years.

* Diploma or Post Diploma in Integrated Plastics Mould Technology

Eligibility for this course is a pass in Class X. Course duration is 3-4 years. Age limit is 19 years.

* Diploma or Post Diploma in Plastics Technology

Eligibility is a pass in Class X. Course duration is 3-4 years. Age limit is 19 years.
